Privacy policy

Global Cry is operated by MOTV8 LIMITED (Company No. 08108266), registered in England and Wales. For data-protection purposes, MOTV8 LIMITED is the controller of personal information collected directly through Global Cry.

Registered office: Raymond's Accountants, Victoria Street, West Bromwich, England B70 8ET. Privacy enquiries: hello@globalcry.org.

What information we process

We aim to collect as little personal information as reasonably possible. Our hosting, security and website infrastructure may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser/device information, requested URLs, timestamps, error logs and security events so the site can be delivered, maintained and protected.

If you contact us, we may process the information you choose to send, together with the contact details needed to reply. If Global Cry later sells its own products, additional customer, delivery and transaction information will be covered by the checkout notices and policies in force at that time.

Get Safe

Get Safe is designed to work without creating an account or crisis profile. Global Cry does not intentionally create a personal crisis-history record from use of those pages. Normal hosting and security logs may still record technical requests to the website, including the requested URL and IP address.

Prototype 1

Prototype 1 is not part of the public service unless Global Cry deliberately enables it. The current bundled prototype is an administrator-only demonstration: it does not connect real users and does not create a normal chat database. Any future public user-to-user version would require a separate privacy assessment, appropriate notices and safeguards before launch.

Local browser storage

Some practical tools, such as Build Your Kit, can store choices locally in your own browser so the tool can restore them later. That local planner state is not submitted to a Global Cry user account. You can remove it using the tool's reset control or your browser's site-data controls.

Cookies and analytics

Necessary cookies may be used for WordPress administration, security and ecommerce functions where required. Global Cry does not currently intend to run Google Analytics, behavioural advertising or visitor-profiling tracking before an appropriate consent setup is in place. See the Cookie Policy for the current position.

Why we use information

Depending on the activity, we may process information because it is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the website; to respond to a request you make; to take steps connected with a future purchase or contract; to comply with a legal obligation; or on the basis of consent where consent is required for an optional technology.

Who may process information

Website data may be processed by service providers that help us host, secure and operate Global Cry. The site is hosted with Hostinger; the current hosting data centre for Global Cry is in Germany. We may also use service providers needed for administration, search visibility or future ecommerce operations.

Global Cry uses Google Search Console for website search-performance information. We do not sell personal information to advertisers.

External and affiliate links

Some articles link to third-party websites, including Amazon and other retailers. When you follow an external link you leave Global Cry, and the third party processes information under its own privacy and cookie terms. Affiliate links do not give Global Cry access to your retailer account or payment details.

International processing

Some external services or websites may process information outside the UK. Where Global Cry itself appoints a processor that involves an international transfer, we will use the contractual or other safeguards required by applicable UK data-protection law where necessary.

How long information is kept

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, for security and operational requirements, or to meet legal obligations. Technical logs may also be retained for periods set by our hosting and security providers. We do not promise that ordinary server/security logs are deleted immediately.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law can give you rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent where processing relies on consent. These rights are not absolute in every situation.

To make a request, email hello@globalcry.org. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you believe your personal information has been handled unlawfully.

Security

We use administrative, hosting and application-level measures intended to reduce security risk. No website or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure, so we do not describe Global Cry as fully secure.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when the services, tracking technologies, ecommerce functions or data-processing activities used by Global Cry materially change.
