Preparedness planner

Build Your Kit.

Build a detailed preparedness plan, see what you already have, identify the next priorities and print one clean checklist. The planner stays exhaustive without treating every item as compulsory.

Private by design. Your plan and progress stay in this browser on this device. Global Cry does not receive your answers. Resetting the planner clears the locally saved plan.
Step 1

Choose your situation.

Each base plan is already comprehensive. The tailoring modules underneath add extra sections only when they genuinely change what you need.

Planning metrics

Give the plan some real numbers.

Every field explains what it means and exactly where it is used. The planner will not turn a vague device count into a fake battery recommendation.

people

What it means: the number of people who may rely on this particular plan.

Used for: water and food calculations on the 72-hour plan, plus party-size context on the printed sheet. Pets are separate.
days

What it means: the number of full days you want the supplies plan to cover.

Used for: 72-hour water/food quantities. On Travel it is context only; the planner does not invent daily consumption figures.
hours

What it means: how long you want selected powered equipment to remain usable.

Used for: energy sizing only when you also enter a real average watt load. It is not a prediction of outage length.
watts

What it means: the combined average draw of the exact equipment you intend to power.

Used for: a planning Wh estimate. Leave it at 0 if unknown — we would rather tell you to measure it than make up a wattage.
devices

What it means: how many phones, laptops, TVs or other devices may share the backup connection at once.

Used for: connection-priority advice. It does not predict required Mbps because device activity matters more than count alone.
profile

What it means: the kind of traffic the backup connection must prioritise.

Used for: data-use and testing reminders, not a guaranteed speed recommendation.

What actually needs to keep working?

Enter counts by type. Different device types create different charging, wattage, surge and connection requirements.

PH
PhonesUSB charging, communications, tickets, maps and authentication.
TB
TabletsUsually USB charged; larger batteries than phones.
LP
LaptopsMay need higher-power USB-C PD or mains AC; charger wattage matters.
LT
Rechargeable lights / radioSmall loads, but useless if their charging leads are scattered or flat.
RT
Router / fibre ONT / meshLow-ish continuous loads; adapter voltage and total watts need checking.
5G
4G / 5G hotspot or routerNeeds power plus an active SIM/data plan and usable mobile coverage.
FR
Fridge / freezerCompressor cycling and startup surge make label watts alone a poor runtime estimate.
AC
Other mains-powered equipmentAnything not covered above. Record actual watts and any startup surge separately.
0 devices 0 device types selected Counts shape the checklist and printed profile. They do not substitute for measured watts.
Step 2 · Tailor this plan

Add only the modules that apply.

These switches really do add items. Each card tells you what will be added to the detailed plan and the printable checklist.

After the first build, changing a module updates the plan instantly.
